LES PETITS FRÈRES DES PAUVRES D’ARNAY LE DUC

Since 1946, Les petits frères des Pauvres have been volunteering their time daily to fight against loneliness among senior citizens older than 50.  When the weight of aging or disease begins to be felt, when children are far away, close friends begin to disappear and material difficulties begin to accumulate… companionship is provided by one or two volunteers who make regular home visits with fraternal presence.  They’re attentive and listen without judging. Assistance and advice is offered to overcome the difficulties of daily living. Being accompanied by Les Petits Frères des Pauvres also makes it possible for the elderly to participate in a number of times of joy and friendship (cultural or other outings, festivals, Christmas meals, seaside holidays, trips to the countryside to Les Petits Frères des Pauvres premises…), always accompanied by volunteers.

A team of Petits Frères des Pauvres was founded in 2014 in the area of Arnay le Duc and a team of 6 volunteers has been working since the beginning of 2015. Their headquarters is the premises graciously provided by the Municipality of Arnay-le-Duc.
